I'm not sure you even have to do the rituals yourself - I've heard you can just eliminate all other factions or prevent their win in the final battle and you will just win by default but I have never tested this. Once you win that battle, that race will be prevented from attempting the ritual ever again. It does warn you that if you don't fight and win that battle you will lose the game. Once one of them does it will trigger that option for the final battle. You can largely ignore the progress that other factions are making, it doesn't really matter until any one of them gets to the end. You will be able to see the progress of your faction and the other competitors on that little bar at the top center of your screen. And that is probably what I'd recommend for someone a bit newer to the game.įor a majority of the factions, particularly the non paid DLC ones, you will be a participant in the vortex ritual. Is there any way I can continue playing my game, whether it be a mod or perhaps a setting I overlooked? I'm at a loss. In every other RTS style war game I've played (Civ, Northguard, etc.) you are able to continue playing even after a win condition is met. I would understand if my faction was wiped out, but I was ranked top 3 in power and I had 3 huge armies controlling many provinces. But now I'm forced to stop playing before I had even discovered a quarter of the map because of a win condition that I wasn't even aware of? I just want to slowly and meticulously take over the entire world by conquering every city and province. I don't care about any win condition the game forces upon you. Then all of the sudden I get a pop up that says "Defeat" and as far as I can tell there is no way to continue playing. First time playing the game, I was really enjoying myself and absolutely loving the game.
